![]() Yes they now treat the safari as a ride and you must stand in line to get on a truck. Now to get to the safari you have to enter the park, go to the fountain on the main road and make a left and follow it to the log ride. As far as people go I assume that this should be a slow day but I would hate to see a busy day if my thinking was correct. I went on a Tuesday and got there as the park opened. Thats lines in both security and entrance. Now you have to go through security, go get in line to get your pre-printed tickets scanned so you can enter. Go back 20 years and you could access the safari without going into the park. So was the ticket price worth the 78 dollars. My passion is photography and this was nothing but a photo shoot for me. Now this might be a fair price for everything but I was not interested in the park just the safari. The parking was 20 then with tax and “handling” charges of almost eight dollars the bill was 78 dollars and change. ![]() The ticket was bought on line on a 20 dollar discount for 44 dollars. In fact after I got off of the safari tour I left the park and came home. In my case that choice is a bad one cause I was interested in only the photography of the animals. Now you have to buy one ticket that does both. It used to be you could go to just the safari or just the theme park or both. The first thing I noticed is that you can no longer pick and choose which you want to do. I’ve read good reviews and bad on this “new” 2013 safari tour and some of the bad seemed petty to me and some of the good didn’t really interest me. It had to be at least 20 years ago since I have been to the safari. I was there about 15 years ago for the theme park but didn’t use the safari then. In reading all the reviews i could find on trip advisor and elsewhere I decided to see for myself what the safari is all about at six flags.
